Alkagesta said it took part in the International Petroleum and Natural Gas Enterprises Conference (IPEC) 2026 in Zhoushan, linking its attendance to the continuing development of its China business. In an account published on its website, the company connected the visit with its broader trading activities in petroleum products and biofuels.

The conference took place at the Zhoushan International Conference Center in Zhejiang Province. According to Alkagesta, the annual event draws participants from Asia, the Middle East and Europe, including oil and gas companies, bulk commodity businesses and trading houses. Port operators and bunker suppliers also form part of the gathering, bringing together several groups involved in fuel trading and marine supply.

Held under the auspices of the Zhejiang Provincial Government and the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone, IPEC promotes Zhoushan’s oil and gas industrial chain. Alkagesta described it as the main platform for that purpose, with a programme spanning senior-level forums, industry presentations, business matchmaking and project signings. The company’s representative was Bayram Bayramli, its China Business Developer.

Alkagesta pointed to the expansion of Zhoushan’s bonded fuel supply base and the city’s early activity in biofuel and methanol bunkering as relevant to its own operations. It linked those developments to the growth of its Geneva biofuels desk and to the product tanker market exposure of its chartering function. The company presented these connections as part of the rationale for its participation.

The company also said direct contact with Chinese refiners, storage operators and bunker suppliers supports its sourcing of marine fuel cargoes for East Asian ports. It characterised Zhoushan as one of the world’s fastest-growing bunkering markets and framed engagement there as supporting its position in that market, alongside the development of its China business line.
