Alkagesta took part in the Commodities Innovation Awards 2026 in Geneva as a Bronze sponsor, according to a report published by the company. Representatives from its board and executive team attended the gathering, which brought together commodities industry figures to recognise innovation and achievement. The sponsorship placed the company among participants in an event focused on Switzerland’s commodities sector.

The awards were jointly developed by Ampersand World and Swiss business magazine Bilan. According to Alkagesta’s account, they recognise work within the Swiss commodities industry, including solutions intended to help the sector respond to challenges in the global economy. The programme spans commercial, financial, technological and operational activities, rather than focusing on a single part of the trading business.

The 2026 edition recognised achievement in seven categories: technological innovation, finance innovation, market and trading innovation, sustainability innovation, shipping innovation, supply chain and logistics innovation, and a special jury award. A Personality of the Year award was also included. Alkagesta’s report did not identify the winners or describe individual projects recognised at the event.

Geneva houses Alkagesta’s biofuels and chartering desks and is a centre for its European operations, the company said. It presented the sponsorship as an expression of its view that innovation, cooperation and institutional relationships are important to the commodities industry’s response to geopolitical disruption, pressures associated with the energy transition and increasingly complex supply chains.

The company also linked its participation to its wider business development during 2026. Alkagesta said it had been moving into additional commodity areas, expanding sustainable fuels infrastructure and strengthening its presence in European and Asian markets. It described the Swiss commodities community as a base for professional relationships and partnerships supporting longer-term growth, although the report gave no figures or specific project details for those expansion activities.
